Career Description

Plumbers install and repair water supply lines, waste disposal systems, related appliances and fixtures. Interprets blue prints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials. In order to become a plumber, you must first complete high school or a GED. After that you do an apprenticeship that will pay you $14.00 to learn the profession. That income can go up to $50.00 an hour after completing your apprenticeship and becoming a journeyman.
